Summer Learning 2021

People of ALL AGES are invited to join us to engage in reading, exploring, learning, and fun this summer!

READ!!  
Join our online Summer Challenge to work toward reading and activity goals, earn virtual badges, and earn chances to win gift cards!  Participants can log their reading and activity progress using an online tool called Beanstack.  Create an account here, and make sure that you choose Brentwood Library from the list of available challenges.  Caregivers should make a master account and then add children under that account.

Once on Brentwood Library's Beanstack page, you'll see different tabs.  One presents our reading challenge, where participants will report reading (or being read to) each week between June 14th and August 6th.  Every weekly goal met will earn a chance to win a grand prize--a $50 gift card to the store of your choice!  Also, youth ages birth through 8th grade who reach their reading goal every week for the full eight weeks will automatically win a $5 gift card.  There will be one $50 gift card prize for each of the three challenge groups - Birth through 2nd grade, 3rd grade through 8th grade, and 9th grade through adult.

Use the Beanstack Tracker app for Android and iOS devices to keep track of your reading time, or report times to us in person or by calling 412-882-5694.  Reading times must be reported by August 6th to qualify for the challenge.  

Our challenges for younger participants offer chances to earn activity badges.  Each badge earned will be rewarded with a chance for the grand prize raffle mentioned above.  These badges can be tracked and earned in the Beanstack app.

We will be offering some outdoor, in-person events this summer, as well as some virtual ones.  Be sure to check our events calendar frequently to find out what's happening each week.
